Telangana Rifle Association charts roadmap for shooting sport growth
The Telangana Rifle Association organised the inaugural Sports Shooting Leadership Conclave in Hyderabad to discuss grassroots development, AI-driven training and infrastructure upgrades. NRAI officials assured support as the State targets producing Olympians by 2032

Hyderabad: The inaugural Sports Shooting Leadership Conclave, organised by the Telangana Rifle Association (TRA), deliberated on a comprehensive roadmap for the growth of shooting sport in Telangana and across India. The discussions centred on grassroots development, infrastructure enhancement, scientific training methods, and alignment with national and international standards.
Among those who attended the conclave were Mr Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, President of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), Mr Amit Sanghi, President, Telangana Rifle Association and Senior Vice President, NRAI, Dr M Ramesh, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, Ms Harichandana Dasari, IAS, District Collector, Hyderabad, Mr A P Jithender Reddy, Advisor to the Government of Telangana on Sports Affairs, Ms A Sonibala Devi, VC and MD of SATG.
Mr Amit Sanghi said the objective of the conclave was to build a stronger, inclusive and performance-driven shooting ecosystem in Telangana capable of consistently producing champions.
He highlighted the reduction of the Minimum Qualifying Score (MQS), approved by NRAI in May 2025 based on TRA’s recommendation, to widen opportunities for talented athletes, particularly from smaller towns and modest backgrounds.
Mr Amit Sanghi also spoke about the proposed Shooting Premier League to enhance visibility and sponsorship opportunities, regular NRAI-supported training camps, and the launch of TriggerPoint, a digital magazine aimed at promoting a culture of continuous learning. He also highlighted the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in training to provide data-driven performance insights, clarifying that AI would complement and support coaches and athletes.
Mr Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo congratulated TRA for organising the conclave and encouraged similar initiatives in other States. He emphasised infrastructure upgradation, scientific coaching systems and AI-driven performance analysis.
He informed that NRAI has initiated structured programmes such as the Academy for Coaches and Judges and ISSF-certified jury training facilities, assuring full support to Telangana in its developmental initiatives.
Mr A P Jithender Reddy expressed confidence that the State would produce at least 2 to 3 Olympians by 2032 through scientific methods and technological integration.
Dr M Ramesh, IPS, Mr M Ramana Kumar, IPS, Mr Salalith Tottempudi, and Mr Aman Sanghi, CEO of Synatech Solutions, also spoke.
