Sangareddy district saw a 28% drop in grave crimes in 2025, except for kidnappings, which rose 39%. Missing person cases increased, Gaming Act offences surged, and the police recovered Rs 78.46 lakh, according to the annual crime report.
Sangareddy: The number of grave cases has come down by 28 per cent in Sangareddy district during the last year, comparatively the previous year, except for the kidnapping cases. Sangareddy SP Partitosh Pankaj released the annual crime report on Tuesday at police headquarters. The number of grave crime cases has come down to 235 in 2025 from 323 last year. However, the number of kidnap cases increased to 125 from last year’s 90, recording a 39 per cent increase.
However, the non-grave cases remained stable at 8020 compared to last year’s 8021. The total number of cases also remained the same as the district recorded 8255 cases against the previous year’s 8,344, recording a slender increase of one per cent.
Meanwhile, the number of missing cases also increased considerably in this district in 2025. As many as 1,051 persons, including 594 women, went missing in 2025 compared to 984 in 2024. While the police could trace 894 persons, the remaining 157 could not be traced until now. Similarly, the Police had failed to trace 88 persons in 2023, as they could trace only 889 people out of 977 missing, while they could not trace 66 persons in 2024, as they traced 918 out of 984.
They could not trace 311 missing persons in last three years, which includes 134 women. The number of cases reported under Gaming Act also increased by a huge number. The police registered 1,264 cases in 2025 compared to 105. The Sangareddy police recovered Rs 78.46 lakhs in 2025, while they managed to recover Rs 21.33 lakhs in 2024.
