Hyderabad: The Health department on Monday revoked permissions given to six more hospitals to treat Covid-19 patients. These were Padmaja Hospital, KPHB Colony, Medchal, Lifeline Medicure Hospital, Alwal, Medchal, Maxcare Hospital, Hanmakonda, Warangal Urban, TX Hospital, Uppal, Medchal, Lalitha Hospital, Warangal Urban and Sri Sai Ram Hospital in Sangareddy.

So far, the Director of Public Health has revoked permission to treat Covid patients to 16 private hospitals across the State. On Saturday, permissions of 10 hospitals were cancelled and on Monday, six more hospitals lost their eligibility to treat Covid patients. The 16 hospitals will not be able to provide treatment to Covid patients after their existing patients are treated and discharged, DPH Dr G Srinivasa Rao said on Monday.

In the last two to three days, the DPH received 166 complaints against 105 private hospitals across the State. On Saturday, the department received 115 complaints and on Monday it received 51 complaints. The Health department has also issued show cause notices to all the 105 private hospitals and suitable action will be taken if the response from the hospitals is unsatisfactory.

“We are warning all private hospitals of strict action if they are found to be violating established protocols, norms, guidelines for Covid treatment and will be subjected to suitable disciplinary action,” the DPH said.
