Hyderabad: The State government on Tuesday permitted owners of standalone cinema theatres to collect parking fee from people parking vehicles on their premises. However, the instructions regarding no parking fee for multiplexes and those located in commercial complexes will continue.

In the orders issued here on Tuesday, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department said it was noticed that in case of standalone cinema theatres, lot of vehicles were being parked by people other than cinema-goers in the parking area; with maintenance and safety of vehicles becoming an issue.

“Therefore, the government after careful consideration of the matter hereby permits owners of standalone cinema theatres to collect parking fee from the persons who parks the vehicle on their premises,” said the order, which comes as amendment to GO Ms No.63 dated 20.03.2018.
