Telangana temples to hold Varuna Yajnas to invoke rain: Minister Konda Surekha
Endowments Minister Konda Surekha has announced that Varuna Yajnas will be conducted in temples across Telangana to address the rainfall deficit caused by the El Nino phenomenon.

Hyderabad: Endowments Minister Konda Surekha announced that Varuna Yagams, rituals performed to invoke rain, will soon be conducted in temples across Telangana to address the rainfall deficit attributed to the El Nino phenomenon. She directed temple managements to organise special pujas seeking abundant rainfall and prosperity for the people of the State.
The Minister made the announcement after distributing appointment letters to 191 employees of the Endowments Department in Hyderabad on Friday. The appointments were issued to priests, Vedic scholars, attendants and traditional temple musicians selected for service in 47 temples across the State.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the State government was committed to strengthening the Endowments Department. She said orders would soon be issued to facilitate spiritual, religious and mythological discourses at temples across the State on days of special significance. Surekha also said employees across various temple departments would be honoured with awards based on their performance.
