Hyderabad: Candidates of SSC and Intermediate of the Telangana Open School Society (TOSS), who were eligible to appear for the public examinations in July this year have been declared as pass. They will be awarded a minimum 35 per cent qualifying marks in each subject.
The State government on Tuesday issued an order permitting the TOSS to declare all its SSC and Intermediate students who were eligible to appear for the public exams in July as a pass.
The order will be applicable to this year only in view of the Covid-19 pandemic situation. This decision will benefit 63,581 SSC and 47,392 intermediate candidates of the TOSS.
Earlier, the government constituted a seven-member committee seeking suggestions and modalities to declare results of the TOSS SSC and Intermediate candidates July 2021, without conducting the public exams in view of the pandemic. The committee unanimously suggested declaring all TOSS eligible candidates for public exams in July as pass.
“Such Intermediate (TOSS) candidates of July 2021, who have been qualified in the various entrance examinations at State and National level / management quota and will be appearing for counselling session shall be treated as having minimum required percentage of marks at Intermediate level as prescribed by concerned authorities/Deemed to be Universities/other Private Universities recognized by UGC,” reads the order.
Candidates who wish to improve their scores have been permitted to appear for immediate subsequent public exams only of TOSS, whenever conducted subject to conditions of improvement rules of the TOSS.
The Director of TOSS has been directed to take necessary action.
