Sangareddy: With an aim to join the Indian Army, a 16-year-old tribal youth, an Intermediate second-year student of Telangana Tribal Welfare Gurukula Society-NDA (TTWGS) located at Ibrahimpatnam, has developed a keen interest in mountaineering.
After undergoing training at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Mountaineering Sikkim for 28 long days on mountaineering, the youth Bhukya Yaswanth has conquered Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895) meters, the tallest mountain on the African continent.
Speaking to Telangana Today from Tanzania, Yaswanth, a native of Ullepally Tanda in Maripedad Mandal of Mahabubabad district, said that he had reached the summit of the Kilimanjaro on August 24. Since he could not communicate with people due to a lack of communication, Yaswanth said that he had informed about his summit to his friends and relatives on Saturday.
Sangareddy-based NGO Sarvodaya Grama Seva Foundation (SGSF) founder of Dr Sudhakar Nayak IRS and his friends had supported his expedition by mobilising funds.
Tribal Welfare Minister Sathyathi Rathod and MP Maloth Kavitha had also extended the financial support to help him realise his dream. Saying that he wanted to join in Indian Army very early after completing Intermediate course, Yaswanth said that he has developed a passion for mountaineering in a bid to improve his physical fitness.
Dr Sudhakar Nayak and his friends have appreciated Yaswanth for his achievement. They have also assured to extend support to him in his future endeavours.
