Kamareddy: Public anger against the Congress government’s failure to implement its poll promises is on the rise. After protests by different sections across the State, tribal people of Ellampeta village of Machareddy mandal came out onto the streets on Saturday. More importantly, they are now openly asking for BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao back as the Chief Minister.

The tribals, who were disappointed over the Congress government’s failure to implement the poll promises, staged a protest at the village and raised slogans against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The tribals stated that they had trusted the Congress and supported it during the Assembly elections, but now the true colour of the party was slowly being exposed.

Raising slogans demanding implementation of the promises made to them, the tribals said that they were cheated as none of the promises made to them was fulfilled so far.

They alleged that though over 10 months passed, the Congress government has failed to implement its poll promises. “This government has failed to implement Six Guarantees and various promises made to the people. It has even failed to fulfil the promises made to the farmers,” the villagers alleged.

The tribals said they had made a great mistake by not supporting BRS president and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao during the polls. They now want the BRS to come to power as they feel that it is the only party which works for the uplift of the poor and tribals. More such protests are being planned in different areas, it is learnt.
