Telangana: Two die, eight injured as granite-laden truck overturns in Khammam

The broken pieces of granite slabs caused severe bleeding injuries to the deceased, killing them on the spot

Khammam: Two labourers were killed and eight others were injured in a road accident on the Khammam-Kodad national highway near Mudigonda in the district on Friday.

The incident occurred when a mini-truck carrying large slabs of polished granite from Guvvalagudem overturned. The broken pieces of granite slabs caused severe bleeding injuries to the deceased, Veeranna (35) and Hussain (28), killing them on the spot.

Overspeeding and breaking of a wheel bolt were said to be the reason for the accident. The injured were shifted to Government General Hospital in Khammam. The workers belong to Khanapuram Haveli in Khammam city.
