Unofficial State Emblem on the RTA border checkpost barricade put up on the Alampur-Kurnool road on the inter-State border.
Jogulamba Gadwal: After the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC), now the Transport Department put an up unofficial Emblem of Telangana on barricades established at Jogulamba Gadwal district here on Tuesday. The RTA border checkpost barricade established on the Alampur-Kurnool road on the inter-State border triggered a row again. Images of the barricade, put up by the Jogulamba Gadwal RTA officials, went viral on various social media platforms. Many raised serious objections over the RTA officials using the unofficial emblem on the barricade.
“It has become fancy for officials to disrespect the official logo of Telangana,” said X user SRG. To make matters worse, the barricade is sponsored by a private hospital from Andhra Pradesh.
This is not the first time that officials have used unofficial logo of the Telangana State in official programmes. In August this year, the GWMC had put up Layout Regularisation Scheme help desk with a banner sporting an unofficial emblem. This had triggered a row and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) had taken serious objection to the act.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao had also demanded the State government to take strong action against the officials responsible for the lapse.
The banner put up by the officials at GWMC head office did not have the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam and Charminar. A similar logo was used on the barricade put up by Jogulamba Gadwal RTA officials on the border checkpost.
Later in the evening, Jogulamba Gadwal Collector BM Santosh said on X: “The barricade was sponsored by KIMS Hospital, Kurnool and logo was printed wrongly. Upon receiving of the news and observation by RTA officials, the barricade with wrong logo was removed immediately…”
