He pointed out that the new statue lacked several key features that were present in the original design including its crown. The crown, symbolizing the pride and self-governance of Telangana was gone. The traditional floral festival Bathukamma, which represents the cultural heritage of Telangana, was absent.

However, the Congress MLA said all the people, who had fought for Telangana irrespective of their political affiliations, would be felicitated on June 3.
The current State emblem, adopted in 2014 and designed by artist Laxman Aelay, showcases two of Telangana’s most significant historical landmarks: the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam and the Charminar.
Earlier in the day, accompanied by the party leaders, he visited Charminar and later, speaking to the media, he said that the decision of the government had already triggered controversy and people were strongly opposing it across the State.
