Hyderabad: The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) on Wednesday decided to introduce a facial recognition system for recording students’ and staff attendance in its 268 institutions.
The Society has asked principals to inform all students and staff to mark attendance twice a day – every morning and evening. The facial recognition system will automatically log attendance to ensure accuracy and efficiency, it said.
In a memo, the Society directed principals to ensure that the facial recognition mobile app is functional in their respective institutions. They were also instructed to inform all students, staff and parents regarding the change in the attendance system. The institutions were asked to complete the process within a week.
