Telangana: Wheel failure on Hisar Express near Jammikunta; major railway accident averted

A major train accident was averted when authorities noticed that a wheel of the train was broken and halted the train

Karimnagar: A major train accident was averted after the Hisar Express was stopped soon after one of its wheels broke at Madipalli in the early hours of Thursday.

The incident occurred near Jammikunta railway station on the Kazipet–Balharshah route at around 2 am. Railway authorities halted the Dakshin Express at Uppal railway station as a precautionary measure.

Railway authorities and passengers heaved a sigh of relief as nobody was injured in the incident. Railway officials are carrying out repair works on a war footing.
