Telangana: Youngster kidnapped in Dharmapuri, relatives and friends rescue him
According to his family members, Naresh, who was working at a petrol bunk in Kodimial, was forcefully taken in a car by three persons in Dharmapuri town on Monday afternoon.
Jagtial: A youngster Sangi Naresh, who was allegedly kidnapped by his close friend in Dharmapuri on Monday, was traced by his family members and friends later on Monday night. A financial dispute is said to be the reason behind the kidnap.
Narrating the kidnap episode to the media, Naresh said he had gone to the residence of a priest to perform shanthipuja on Monday morning, when Ugender along with three others detained him in the priest’s house itself. After some time, they tied his hands and legs with a rope and shifted him to another place in Dharmapuri town in a car owned by Ugender. Around 10 pm, they tried to take him away from Dharmapuri.
On the other hand, family members, who were searching for Naresh as the latter did not return home by evening, examined CCTV footage at the priest’s residence around 5 pm and found the car of the accused. Suspecting that Ugender might have kidnapped Naresh, they followed him and managed to catch them at Kosunurpalli of Dharmapuri mandal while they shifting Naresh to another area. Ugender and three of his friends were handed over to police.
Police said Ugender had kidnapped Naresh in order to demand Rs.3 lakh. Both of them were friends and had operated a petrol bunk in Konaraopet of Rajanna-Sircilla district in a partnership. In connection with business transactions, Naresh had to pay Rs 18 lakh to Ugender.
Ugender, who met with an accident three years ago, was in coma for one month. While Naresh claims that he spent the entire Rs 18 lakh for his treatment, family members of the latter denied his claims.
