Telangana’s swimmer Shyamala seeks Govt assistance
Sports Minister V Srininvas Goud assured her of financial assistance and appreciated her on being selected for the competition.
Hyderabad: State swimmer Goli Shyamala, who has been selected for the long distance open water swimming championship scheduled to be held in Los Angeles, met Sports Minister V Srininvas Goud and sought financial assistance.
The swimming competition will be held in the open waters between Los Angeles and Quanta Line Island, spread over 35 km with 15 degrees temperature. The Minister assured her of financial assistance and appreciated her on being selected for the competition.
He further said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is keen to make Telangana, a super power in sports in the country and the government is dedicated to help all the athletes who bring laurels to the country and the State. He further added that the government is preparing Sports Policy for the State which would, once comes into effect, will help athlete and develop the infrastructure.
