Telugu NRIs from Gulf embrace spirituality at Maha Kumbh Mela

Scores of Telugu NRIs from the Gulf region are travelling to India exclusively to take a holy dip at the Sangam, the sacred confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati rivers and embrace spirituality.
To enrich their spiritual experience, most of these pilgrims visit Ayodhya before returning to the Gulf. Amidst examinations for their wards, many enthusiastic and devotional NRIs are embarking on the spiritual journey.
“The most overwhelming experience was the sea of humanity heading in a single direction for taking the holy dip and covering the distance by foot,” said Shiva
Ramakrishan Vegesna, a resident of Dubai and native of West Godavari. He told ‘Telangana Today’ over phone that he had witnessed such a sea of humanity for the first time in his life. He said he never felt any exhaustion and tiredness despite hectic walking over kilometres. Shiva, who works in a top leading company as a corporate executive, took leave to participate in the Maha Kumbh Mela.
“The transportation arrangements are excellent without any hassle,” commented Sudha Sai, resident of Doha, Qatar and a native of Hyderabad. She said she didn’t encounter any hassle while moving between ghats and temples in holy places in UP.
“There are no words to describe my overwhelming joy and feeling that a lifetime dream came true,” said T. Mallikarjun, a resident of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and who settled in Kukatpally in Hyderabad and who along with his brother flew India to take holy dip. He lauded the extensive arrangements made by the administration, particularly the facilities at the ghats and the enhanced security measures.
“There are no words to describe spiritual joy,” said Venu Veladandi of Qatar, a native of Karimnagar.
“We will be visiting to take holy dip in Sangam on the last day, after my son’s examinations are over,” revealed noted Indian woman activist V. Rajanimurthy, a resident of Doha in Qatar and native of Anantapur district.
