Telugu star Nagarjun Akkineni, Akhil Akkenineni, Taraka Ratna, Sudheer Babu, Anupama Parameswaran, Nithya Menen, Archana Veda accompanied by her husband Jagadeesh Bakthavachalam, were among other movie artistes who cast their vote in the Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) elections on Sunday.
Mild tension prevailed at Jubilee Hills Public School, where the polling is being held, when fans thronged in large numbers to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars. This led to the traffic jam on the entire stretch. Subsequently, the police personnel used mild force to clear the gathering.
According to the latest figures, a total of 56 record percentage of voting has been registered in the MAA elections. So far, 580 movie artistes have cast their votes in the polling. Along with the postal ballot votes, it is expected that the number is likely to touch 600 by 3pm.
