Tension at Durveshali dargah after shed demolition sparks clash between villagers and BJP workers
Tensions flared near Durveshali dargah in Rajanna-Sircilla district after officials demolished a shed built for devotees, triggering a standoff between villagers and BJP workers. Police intervened to prevent a clash between villagers and the BJP workers.

Rajanna-Siriclla: Demolition of a shed constructed at Durveshali dargah located near Singaram village of Yellareddypet mandal created tension as the villagers tried to attack BJP workers.
Dargah, located on the hillocks, became popular as the people from surrounding areas are visiting it and celebrating small rituals. So, organizers constructed a shed near dargah for the convenience of devotees.
BJP activists lodged a complaint with the collector stating that in order to occupy nearby government land, organizers have constructed the shed near dargah.
Villagers, who are leading lives by depending on dargah by established small businesses, met the officials and informed them that the shed was not constructed by occupying government land.
As BJP leaders mounted pressure on the officials, revenue officials demolished the shed at around 4.30 am on Tuesday. Villagers felt disappointed after knowing about demolition.
On the other hand, BJP leaders had decided to conduct a press meet at Durshevali dargah. Knowing about it, villagers had decided to attack BJP cadres and laid wait for them in the outskirts of the village.
However, the BJP leaders, who reached the village in two cars, fled after seeing villagers waiting for them by leaving one activist at the spot.
When the villagers tried to attack him, alerted police shifted him from the spot a police vehicle.
Later, BJP leaders led by district president Reddaboina Gopi tried to visit dargah but police prevented them in the outskirts of Narayanapur and shifted them to police station.
DSP Chandrashekhar, CI Srinivas Goud, SI Ramakanth and others monitored the situation.
