Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at the residence of former BRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy on Sunday evening after a team of Vikarabad police reached his house in the city, reportedly in connection with a case registered against him during the counting of votes in the municipal elections on Friday.

The BRS leader on Friday objected to the entry of local MLA Manohar Reddy into the counting centre at Tandur much before the results were announced. Rohith Reddy lodged objections with the police for allowing the MLA inside the counting centre.

The BRS leaders filed a complaint with the Election Commission over the alleged violation. However, following the incident at the counting centre, the Vikarabad police booked a case against Rohith Reddy and others.

On Sunday, around 50 policemen from Vikarabad police reached Rohith Reddy’s residence at Manikonda, but followers of the BRS leader said he was not present.

Several followers of Rohith Reddy gathered at his residence to prevent the police from arresting him.
