Hyderabad: Commotion prevailed for a while at the Telangana State Hajj Committee office on Tuesday after the officials allegedly spoke rudely with the relatives of the Saudi Arabia bus fire accident victims.

The relatives of the bus victims, along with a BRS party delegation, visited the Telangana State Hajj Committee office at Hajj House after the State government planned to send two relatives of every victim to Saudi Arabia.

Almost all the relatives of the bus victims had submitted their passports and related documents at the office. However, lack of clarity among the families about their departure to Saudi Arabia and certain new guidelines set by the local officials raised apprehension in the families, leading to arguments.

The in-charge Executive Officer of the Telangana State Hajj Committee, Mohd Safiullah, entered into the argument with the relatives of the victims. Things nearly went out of hand when the official, in a fit of rage, said ‘Jaleh huveh tukdao ku kya dekhte jakeh’ (what is there in the charred bodies to see).

TS Haj Committee Chairman, Maulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani, and others swiftly intervened and pacified the people. Former Home Minister, Mohd Mahmood Ali objected to the behaviour of the TG Hajj Committee officials and said the government officials should understand the sentiments of the bereaved families.
