Hyderabad: Unidentified miscreants allegedly scribbled and disfigured the wall paintings on a temple at Ganganagar in Golnaka, Amberpet.

The incident came to light on Thursday 10 pm, when local residents noticed it and informed the police.

On receiving information, the Amberpet police reached the spot and took up an investigation.

East Zone DCP B Balaswamy, Additional DCP J Narsaiah and Amberpet Inspector Ashok reached the spot.

Following the incident, a large crowd of youths gathered and tension was brewing.

The police pacified the residents and assured them of identifying and arresting the perpetrators of this incident at the earliest.

The situation was brought under control. Additional police force was deployed at the spot to prevent any untoward incident.

A complaint was lodged at the police station and a case was registered.
