Hyderabad: In a goof-up, students appearing for the Telangana Guruku Common Entrance Test (TG GCET) on Sunday were handed over a Class VI question paper instead of Class V. The incident has been reported at a centre in Ryalampadu, Dharur mandal, in Gadwal district.
The exam, which was supposed to begin at 11 am as per the schedule, did not commence until 1.30 pm. This triggered protests from students and parents who had brought their children from distant areas to take the exam.
According to a senior TGSWREIS official, the issue occurred as the students were distributed Class VI question papers instead of Class V.
“The question papers, which are confidential material, are printed at the security printing press. The mix-up issue occurred during the packaging at the press. The exam was delayed. However, centre officials were directed to provide lunch to both students and parents. After lunch, the exam was successfully conducted by arranging the correct question paper,” the official added.
Meanwhile, the TGSWREIS said 94.03 per cent out of 1,82,061 students who had registered for the entrance test have appeared. The entrance test is conducted for admissions to Class V and backlog vacancies in classes VI to IX in TGSWREIS, TGTWREIS, TREIS and MJPTBCWREIS.
