Thieves damaged idols while taking away cash from temple hundi at Dharmaram, Siddipet district on Thursday night
Siddipet: Unidentified miscreants decamped with the hundi from Mahankali Temple at Dharmaram village in Mirudodi mandal on Thursday night. The hundi reportedly contained over Rs one lakh cash and other valuables. The thieves also damaged the idols and gates.
Since the temple management installed CC Cameras, the thieves also took away the hard discs, leaving no digital evidence. When the temple priest came to open the temple on Friday morning, he found the temple gates opened and called the police.
He said that some thieves also took away a gold nose ring from the temple some four years ago. However, the police could not crack the case until now. The Mirudoddi police registered a case and the probe was on.
