Hyderabad: Thieves targeted a passenger couple traveling in the Duronto Express and decamped with a handbag reportedly containing 15 tolas gold ornaments and Rs 15,000 cash in Maharashtra.
However, the couple lodged a complaint with the Government Railway Police (GRP) officials after reaching the Secunderabad railway station on Sunday.
The passengers Mahender and Kavita of Maharashtra had boarded the train with their other family members were traveling towards Hyderabad when the incident occurred.
As per available information, on reaching Bidiri in Maharashtra, the couple checked the handbag and the valuables were missing. They immediately alerted the Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials on board and lodged a complaint on reaching Secunderabad.
Based on the complaint, the Government Railway Police at Secunderabad booked a case and will transfer it to their counterpart in Maharashtra for further investigation.
