Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Three cows were killed by a tiger while they were grazing in the forest adjacent to Lodpalli village in Penchikalpet mandal on Wednesday. This is the third cattle kill reported from this village this fortnight.
Forest Range Officer S Venugopal said the cows belonging to Manduri Arjaiah, Bursa Ramaiah and Morla Mallesh were killed by a tiger that had made the nearby forest its home. Pugmarks of the carnivore were recorded. Compensation would be extended to the owners of the cattle soon, he said, and urged the locals not to venture into deep forests and avoid sudden confrontation with the tiger.
On June 15 last, a cow belonging to Muktyar Ahmed and buffalo of Gorapalli Arjaiah were killed by a tiger while they were grazing in the same forest. Locals requested the forest officials to take steps to prevent cattle kills.
