Nalgonda: In a ghastly accident, three persons died and four others received injuries in a road accident on Sagar highway near VT Colony in Mall village of Chinthapally mandal in Nalgonda district in the early hours of Friday. The deceased were identified as Pandula Ramulu, Pandula Sathiah and Pandula Pandu, who were natives of Vaddipally village of Marriguda mandal in the district. Ramulu and Sathaiah died on the spot, while Pandu died while undergoing treatment in a hospital at Hyderabad.

The road accident took place at 4 am when a four-wheeler vehicle, in which the victims were travelling, hit a lorry stationed on the roadside at Mall village.


Chinthapally Sub-Inspector Venkateshwar Reddy said the four-wheeler, which was carrying 12 passengers, had hit the stationed lorry from the rearside. He suspected that the drive might have dozed off, during the driving which could have led to the mishap. The road accident occurred when the victims were returning to their native place after attending a function at Hyderabad.

The injured have been shifted to a hospital at Hyderabad by the 108 ambulance for treatment. The condition of another two persons was said to be serious. The Chinthapally police filed a case and took up investigation.
