Nizamabad: In two separate incidcents, two teenagers drowned in Nizamsagar project in Kamareddy district and a 45-year-old woman drowned in Nallavagu stream in Nizamsagar mandal on Sunday.

In the first incident, five teenagers, all friends from Kalher in Medak district, came to Nizamsagar project and decided to get into the water without realising that the depth of the water in that particular spot was about 30 feet. Katika Shiva (19) and Syed Sumeer (19) drowned in the deep waters as they did not know swimming.

The other friends got worried and informed the locals and project officials, who in turn informed the police. Nizamsagar SI Sayanna arrived at the project along with his staff and started search operations with the help of fishermen. They finally found the bodies in the deep pit in the evening.

Police officials registered a case and sent the bodies to Banswada area hospital for post-mortem.

In the second incident Gandla Ansavva, hailing from Mangloor village of Nizamsagar mandal, accidentally fell into Nallavagu stream while she was on her way to agriculture field on Saturday. Her relatives and villagers searched for her and found her body in the stream. Police registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem.

Two drown in check dam

Sangareddy: In a tragic incident, two boys drowned in a check dam at Rejinthal village of Nyalkal Police Station limits under Haddanur Police Station limits in Sangareddy district on Friday. The bodies, however, were found in the water body on Saturday and Sunday.

The two boys, who went to agriculture fields to graze their cattle, failed to return home even after the cattle returned. One of them, 14-year-old Fakir Sajid’s body was found floating in a check dam on Saturday morning while the other boy, Dora Rakesh’s (17) body was not found.

Rakesh’s body was found floating on Sunday morning.  Sub-inspector of Police, Haddanur, Vijay Kumar said they may have accidentally fallen into the check dam.
