Three persons stranded in rivulet rescued near Korutla in Jagitial
According to locals, the three persons went to the rivulet that flows between Ekinpur and Sangham villages, to attend nature's call in the morning.

Jagitial: Three persons, who were stranded in Ekinpurvagu on the outskirts of Korutla town, were rescued after a four hour rescue operation.
Makkarla Vijay of Ekinpur, Illandula Srinivas of Sangham and Savus of Ayyappagutta of Korutla town were stranded in the rivulet. While Vijay and Srinivas took shelter on a small island, Savus sat on a stone.
According to local people, the trio went to the rivulet that flows between Ekinpur and Sangham villages, to attend nature’s call in the morning and were stranded when the flow in the rivulet suddenly increased. They raised an alarm for help. On hearing their screams, locals alerted the police. RDO Vinod Kumar, DSP Gous Baba, Tahasildhar Satyanarayana, CI Rajashekar Raj, fire officer P Laxminarayana and other officials rushed to the spot and deployed professional swimmer and rescued the stranded persons.
Four swimmers reached the spots where the victims were stranded and brought them back with the help of ropes. Rescue staff had to struggle for four hours from 9 am to 1 pm to rescue the trio.
It is learnt that the water levels in the rivulet surged suddenly when a bund of a tank located in the upper reaches of Ekinpurvagu breached. Rivulets, tanks, ponds and other water bodies in the district are overflowing following the incessant rain in the last 24 hours.
