Toddler ran over by car, dies in hospital in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a three-year-old toddler who suffered grievous injuries after being run over by a rashly driven car on the road at Madhura Nagar in Bachupally died under treatment on Tuesday night.

The toddler Anil Kumar, whose father Suri Babu is a watchman at an apartment in Prashanthi Hills, used to reside with their family in a room in the basement.

The incident occurred in the evening, when Anil Kumar who was playing outside reportedly entered the main road, when a car which was driven in a rash and negligent manner, ran over the child.

“He came under the front tyre of the car and suffered grievous injuries. His family members, who realised what happened, rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment later in the night,” police said.

The Bachupally police have booked a case of negligence causing death against the car driver and took up investigation.
