Toddlers Are Taking Over The Dance Floor With Techno Beats And Nursery Rhymes
Baby and toddler raves are emerging as a new family entertainment trend, remixing nursery rhymes with techno beats in nightclub-style venues. Hyderabad has begun hosting daytime versions, offering music, dancing, crafts, and sensory play for children, while parents enjoy a safe, alcohol-free party atmosphere.
Family-Friendly Club Trend: The lights are low, the DJ is behind the console and little hands are waving glow sticks in the air. Then ‘Baby Shark’ comes on, not the usual version, but one powered by a thumping house beat. It sounds like an unlikely party, but baby raves are making this combination the newest way for families to let loose.
Baby and toddler raves are emerging as a playful new trend in family entertainment, taking the energy of a nightclub and giving it a toddler-friendly makeover. There is loud music, dancing, DJs and sensory lighting, but the crowd is of young children and their parents.
The playlist is where the concept really gets its personality. Familiar nursery rhymes such as ‘Baby Shark’ and ‘The Wheels On The Bus’ are remixed with techno and house beats, giving children songs they recognise while creating something parents can enjoy dancing to as well.

The events may use nightclub-style venues, but they happen during the day and follow a very different set of rules. There is no alcohol, no late-night partying and everything wraps up before the children’s bedtime. Glow sticks, lighting and other playful elements add to the atmosphere.
The trend has also made its way to India, with Australian family entertainer Lenny Pearce bringing his first-ever Toddler Rave World Tour to the country.
Hyderabad is beginning to get its own smaller-scale versions too, with nightclubs hosting daytime baby rave events. Alongside the music and dancing, children can find sensory tables, art stations such as face and hand painting and simple DIY craft corners.
“It was interesting to see a nightclub turned into a space for children. The music was energetic, but there were also activities for them to do between the dancing,” said Anusha, a parent who attended a toddler rave..
For parents, the appeal is not just about finding something new for their children, but also getting to be part of the experience. “My child loves music and dancing, so this was a fun way to let her enjoy both. I also liked that it was something we could experience together,” said Shivani, a parent.
So while the parents get their DJ, dance floor and a little taste of nightlife, the little ones get nursery rhymes, glow sticks, crafts and plenty of room to dance. It is a nightclub experience, just one where the biggest concern at the end of the party is getting everyone home in time for a nap.
