Kothagudem: The tradition of offering ‘Goti talambralu’ for Sri Rama Navami Brahmotsavams of Bhadradri Temple, wherein talambralu are prepared by peeling paddy using fingers, is gaining prominence among devotees.
For the past several years, Sri Krishna Chaitanya Sangham of Korukonda, East Godavari district, has been preparing Goti talambralu. The sangham led by Kalyanam Appa Rao specially grows paddy for preparing talambralu.
Sri Rama Adhyamika Seva Samithi of Jangareddygudem in Eluru led by Mullapudi Veeravenkata Satyanarayana offered three quintals of Goti talambralu.
Nearly 8,000 devotees under the aegis of the samithi embarked on a padayatra and reached Bhadrachalam a couple of days ago and offered the talambralu. The samithi has been following the tradition for the past 23 years.
This time, Sri Rama Kotibhakta Samajam of Gajwel in Siddipet district led by its founder Ramakoti Ramaraju offered 180 kg of Goti talambralu to the temple for use in the brahmotsavams.
