Tragedy strikes picnic outing as two boys drown in Esa river in Rajendranagar
Two boys from Chintalmet, Rajendranagar, drowned in the Esa river near Kismatpur while on a picnic with friends at Himayat Sagar. Rescue operations by police, DRF, and NDRF are underway to recover the bodies.
Hyderabad: Two boys drowned in the Esa river at Kismatpur in Rajendranagar on Sunday afternoon.
A group of six boys from the city had come for a picnic to Himayatsagar. Two of the boys, Sohail and Rehan, who are residents of Chintalmet, Rajendranagar went into the water and began playing.
However, both of them drowned in the river. On noticing them drowning, two of their friends panicked and ran away from the spot, while two others rushed towards the road and informed the passers-by, who alerted the police.
The Rajendranagar police rushed to the spot and started rescue efforts. The police informed the Disaster Response Force (DRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), who joined the search operation to trace the two boys. The efforts are ongoing.
