Khammam: A TRS leader died when hit by a speeding train near Chintakani railway station in the district.

The deceased, Shaik Ramzan (40) was working for the party since its inception. He was the co-option member of Chintakani mandal praja parishad.


The incident occurred when the deceased went to relieve himself near the railway tracks during late night hours of Monday, sources said.

TRS leaders Bommera Rammurthy, Kopuri Purnaiah, P Pullaiah and others rushed to the spot and consoled the berieved family members.

The death of Ramzan caused a pall of gloom to descend on the mandal political circles as he was said to be an affectionate personality having friends in all parties.

The local police booked a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
