Adilabad: Tribal women from Kumram Bheem colony in Mavala mandal centre staged a sit-in in front of the Collectorate here seeking electric metres to their houses under the Gruha Jyothi scheme on Saturday.
The women, stating that they were facing problems due to lack of meters, alleged that some Congress leaders were preventing provision of basic amenities such as roads, drinking water and electricity to their colony by colluding with revenue officials. They claimed that they had been living in a piece of land in survey number 72 for quite a long time.
The women also accused Congress leaders of preventing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Minister D Seethakka and others from touring the colony by providing false information.
