TRS MLAs slam Bandi Sanjay for making derogatory remarks against KCR
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan here, former Minister and MLC P Mahender Reddy ridiculed Sanjay's attempts to project himself as the lone saviour of Hindu community in the State.
Hyderabad: TRS legislators launched a scathing attack against State BJP president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday for his continued efforts to incite religious sentiments for political gains in Telangana State. They also took strong objection to the derogatory remarks made by him against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and warned him of facing consequences if he did not stop using such foul language.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan here, former Minister and MLC P Mahender Reddy ridiculed Sanjay’s attempts to project himself as the lone saviour of Hindu community in the State. He slammed the BJP State president for creating religious divide among the population for his political gains. “Is Sanjay the only Hindu in the State? He should clarify whether Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of only Hindus or people of all beliefs in the country,” he demanded.
Strongly objecting to the derogatory statements against the Chief Minister, Mahender Reddy demanded that Sanjay prove his allegations against the former. “Does the BJP have the guts to send the Chief Minister to jail? On what basis are they threatening to send him to jail? We are losing our patience and will give fitting reply to the BJP leadership from now onwards,” he said.
Vikarabad MLA Dr Methuku Anand said former Minister A Chandrashekhar who joined BJP recently was an uncultured person and had done nothing for development of Vikarabad during his stint as a Minister. He stated that Sanjay lacked subject knowledge and hence, was relying on religious politics for his survival. He challenged the BJP president to a debate on funds sanctioned for gram panchayats in the State.
“Sanjay makes ridiculous statements to incite people, but evades when challenged to a debate on development,” he pointed out, and advised the BJP leaders to get funds for the State’s development to prove their commitment to the people of Telangana.
Tandur MLA Pilot Rohit Reddy and Parigi MLA Mahesh Reddy also spoke on the occasion.
