Warangal: The development and welfare programmes being implemented by the TRS government would help the party win the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) elections, Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said on Sunday.
The Minister, accompanied by Wardhannapet MLA Aruri Ramesh, held road shows in several municipal divisions that fall under Wardhannapet Assembly segment on Sunday. He expressed confidence that TRS was going to win all the 13 divisions in the Assembly segment.
Addressing the public Dayakar Rao said under the dynamic leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekha Rao and MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao committed efforts were being made for an all-round development of GWMC.
Large scale development works have already been executed in the city and in order to ensure further development of Warangal city the TRS candidates have to be elected with majority, he appealed to the voters.
Similarly, Social Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar and Tribal Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod have campaigned for TRS candidates 32, 40 and other divisions in the city. They urged the voters to understand the fact that only the TRS could achieve development of the city.
The Chief Minister who laid special focus on Warangal city development allotted Rs 300 crore in the State Budget. With the allocation of huge amounts of funds the city has witnessed amazing transformation during the past seven years, Rathod said.
A large number of homeless poor were given double bedroom houses and the government has also planned to provide financial assistance to the people who own a piece of land to construct double bedroom houses, the minister noted. She wanted the voters to support the TRS to win all the 66 wards in GWMC.
Eshwar said the Chief Minister had great love towards Warangal, the second biggest city in Telangana after Hyderabad and striving to develop the city. The State government was giving equal priority to welfare of people and development of the State.
He explained that around 40 lakh eligible persons were being given Rs 2000 Asara pensions monthly. Efforts were on to include new beneficiaries by reducing the upper age limit to 57 years for giving old age pensions.
Former Dy. Chief Minister, K Srihari along with Narsampet MLA, P Sudharshan Reddy carried out a door to door campaign in 45th division in the city seeking votes for the party nominee Endla Nageswar Rao.
