TRS sure of winning Nalgonda LAC: Jagdish Reddy

Bhongir: Energy Minister G Jagdish Reddy on Friday said that except TRS candidate, no other candidate in Nalgonda Local Authorities Constituency of Legislative Council has any moral right to seek votes of local bodies elected representatives in the biennial elections.
Speaking at a preparatory meeting for the MLC elections here, Jagdish Reddy said the TRS government has taken measures to strengthen the local bodies besides hiking the honorarium of their elected representatives. Moreover, TRS has enough strength of elected representatives to win in the elections, he said, and pointed out that of the 1,271 electors of Nalgonda LAC, more than 1,000 electors were from TRS. The victory of TRS candidate M Koti Reddy is a foregone conclusion, he said.
Stating that BJP leaders had hatched a conspiracy to tarnish the image of the TRS government since they could not stomach the development in Telangana, the Minister said 30 lakh agriculture pump sets were covered under the free electricity scheme in the State. “We have more borewells than Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Karnataka, which are bigger than Telangana State. Telangana topped the country in paddy production within six years due to the sincere efforts of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s aim to restore the past glory to the agriculture sector,” he said.
Farmers in the State were also getting irrigation facility through Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme which was completed within arecord time of three years, he added. The TRS elected representatives should widely publicise the welfare schemes and development programmes of the TRS government, he added.
Besides party ZPTCs, MPTCs, MPPs and Municipal Councilors from Bhongir and Alair Assembly Constituency, District Cooperative Central bank Chairman Gongidi Mahender Reddy, Bhongir MLA Pylla Shaker Reddy and Alair MLA Gongidi Sunitha attended the meeting.
