Trucks with cattle seized at Shamirpet

Over 70 animals were rescued from the vehicles

Hyderabad: Two trucks laden with cows and bulls allegedly being illegally transported to slaughter houses were seized at Shamirpet. Over 70 animals were rescued from the vehicles.

According to information available, the two trucks from Karnataka and Maharashtra carrying nearly 50 bulls and over 20 cows were stopped and the locals said the cattle were crammed into the vehicles and tied. A few of the animals were severely injured too.

On receiving information, the patrol mobile vehicle of the Shamirpet police reached the spot seized the vehicle. The cattle were shifted to the Gaushala in Jiyaguda. The Shamirpet police are investigating.
