Hyderabad: A penalty was levied on 10 officials working in various municipal corporations and municipalities for not clearing files as per the prescribed time frame mentioned under the Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-bPASS).
The Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD) department levied a penalty of Rs 10,000 each on three officials working in Medchal, Warangal and Adilabad districts, seven officials working in Mahbubabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Ranga Reddy, Wanaparthy, Karimnagar and Medchal districts were levied a penalty of Rs 5,000 each.

Engineers from the Irrigation Department, section officers working in the town planning wing of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), a revenue inspector and a senior revenue assistant were the officials penalised, a press release from MA&UD said.
MA&UD Special Chief Secretary Arvind Kumar in a letter addressing the district collectors instructed them to take immediate action regarding disposal of all the self-certification files in a time-bound manner and impose a penalty on the officials who were found delaying files. The State government enacted TS-bPASS Act 2020 for getting hassle free building permissions online and to dispose the applications in a time bound manner.
