Hyderabad: The State government has declared 16 new front organisations of the proscribed Communist Party of India (Maoist) as unlawful associations for a period of one year with effect from March 30, 2021.

These organisations have been encouraging or aiding persons to commit acts of violence and intimidation and habitually committing the acts of violence, a Government Order issued by Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar said.


The activists of these front affiliates are moving in urban areas, adopting urban guerrilla tactics and taking different covers as per their strategy and tactics to wage war against the State, the GO said.

They have further stepped up their activities adopting new tactics and joined hands with several organisations and alluring the members into their folds inciting inflammatory statements, meetings, and rallies highlighting various issues against the Central and State governments.

The activists of these organisations have been regularly in touch and meeting the Maoist leadership in the forest area of Chhattisgarh. On the directions of CPI (Maoist), they are organizing various protest programmes on barren lands and against so-called State repression on front activists besides demanding release of P Vara Vara Rao, founder of VIRASAM, Prof. GN Sai Baba, an extremist convict, Rona Wilson and other leaders of various front organisations who were arrested in Bhima Koregaon case.

They also staged protests for repealing the UAP Act, Farm laws and CAA/NRC. Some activists of these organisations became underground (UG) cadre of CPI (Maoist) to wage war against the lawfully established governments.

Under provisions of Telangana Public Security Act-1992, the government declared the 16 front organisations – Telangana Praja Front (TPF), Telangana Asanghatitha Karmika Samkhya (TAKS), Telangana Vidyarthi Vedika (TVV), Democratic Student Organisation (DSU), Telangana Vidyarthi Sangham (TVS), Adivasi Students Union (ASU), Committee for Release of Political Prisoners (CRPP), Telangana Raithanga Samithi, Tudum Debba (TD), Praja Kala Mandali (PKM), Telangana Democratic Front (TDF), Forum Against Hindu Fascism Offensive (FAHFO), Civil Liberties Committee (CLC), Amarula Bandhu Mithrula Sangham (ABMS), Chaitanya Mahila Sangham (CMS) and Revolutionary Writers Association (RWA) as unlawful associations in the State for one year.
