Hanamkonda: The State government is striving to improve amenities in government schools to benefit children of disadvantaged sections. As part of this exercise, the TRS government has set up more residential schools in the state since it came to power besides improving quality in education, Government Chief whip and West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar said on Sunday.
He said teachers working in government schools were very good in their subjects and providing quality and value-based education. He was speaking at a ‘Gurupujostavam’ on the occasion of Teacher’s Day organised by the District Education department at the newly inaugurated integrated Collectorate complex here.
Addressing teachers on the occasion, Vinay Bhaskar said government schools were providing quality education that were on par with private schools and thanked the teachers for their dedication.
“Due to the efforts of the TRS government, more and more students are getting attracted to government-run schools. For instance, the number of students studying at the Government High School, Markazi, in Hanamkonda, crossed the 1000 mark, thanks to the efforts of the teachers working there. I appeal to the other teachers to emulate the teachers of Markazi and try to attract more students to government schools,” he said, and promised to extend his support to improve the facilities in schools including labs at the schools.
He also said that the teachers should be remembered forever by the students not only on the Teacher’s Day. “The teachers play a vital role in the uplift of the society. They are the people after parents who shape the personality of the children and make them responsible citizens of the nation,” Vina Bhaskar added.
Zilla Parishad (ZP) chairman Dr Sudhir Kumar said that the education sector was witnessing a sea change of late. “For ages, teachers are playing a key role in shaping the man,” he added. Meanwhile, a total of 37 best teachers have been felicitated on the occasion. Madham Ravinder, a teacher at the Mandal Parishad Primary School (MPPS), Manikyapur village of Bheemadevarapally Mandal in the district, who won the best teacher award for his service said that there is a need for adoption of the modern methods of teaching and use of the technology from the primary school level.
