Mancherial: Government Whip and Chennur MLA Balka Suman said the government was according paramount importance for improving infrastructure in rural areas and for the welfare of weaker sections. He inaugurated a high-level bridge built across a stream near Bokkalagutta village in Mandamarri mandal on Saturday.
Suman said the government was allocating sufficient funds for laying roads and constructing bridges with an aim to improve connectivity in rural parts. He said the government was implementing a slew of schemes for the welfare of financially weak communities. He cited Asara pension, Rythu Bandhu and Kalyana Laxmi schemes.
Built at an estimated cost of Rs 3.86 crore, the facility fulfilled a long pending dream of residents of Bokkalagutta who were forced to travel five kilometres to reach Mancherial-Bellampalli road due to lack of bridge across the stream. It drastically reduced the distance between their village and the national highway.
Suman, later, inaugurated 18 auto-rickshaws granted to Kyathanpalli municipality under Swachh Bharat Mission. He then handed over cheques to 33 beneficiaries of Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) at a programme held in Chennur town. He gave away Ramzan gifts to Muslims in Kyathanpalli.
