Hyderabad: Paying tributes to police martyrs on Police Commemoration Day observed at the Police Parade Ground here, Jagadish Reddy said Telangana police topped the country in maintenance of law and order, effective investigation of cases and ensuring culprits get punishment and ensuing safety of women. Referring to the sacrifices of policemen in the line of duty, he said: “We can’t forget the sacrifices of police and army in maintenance of law and order and internal security.”
Stating that law and order control was key for development, the Minister said the initiatives of the State government including SHE teams and friendly policing were major achievements. “Police from other States are seeking the help of Telangana police to crack major cases,” he said, adding that Nalgonda police also had history of cracking sensational cases, and appreciated them for their efforts to check ganja menace.
He said the State government has provided latest equipment and facilities to the police department, and has also been extending help to the families of police martyrs.
The district Collector Prashant Jeevan Patil said police play a crucial role in development of society. “Police martyrs, who sacrificed their lives to ensure peace, are inspiration for the next generations in serving the society,” he said.
Superintendent of Police A V Ranganath, District Principal Judge Ramesh, Nalgonda MLA K Bhupal Reddy, MLC Narsi Reddy and Additional SP Narmadha were also attended the programme.
