Hyderabad: The State government will conduct the Telangana State Teacher Eligibility Test (TS TET) 2022 on June 12. The Department of School Education issued a notification with regard to this on Thursday. Paper-I of the test will be held from 9.30 am to 12 noon and Paper-II from 2.30 pm to 5 pm.

Interested and eligible candidates can download the information bulletin and detailed notification from https://tstet.cgg.gov.in from Friday. Online payments can be made from March 26 to April 11 and applications will be accepted from March 26 to April 12. For more details, visit https://tstet.cgg.gov.in.

Earlier, as per guidelines issued by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the State government made amendments to eligibility criteria for TET. Candidates with graduation with at least 50 per cent of marks (45 per cent in case of SC/ST/BC differently abled) and passed in bachelor of education/bachelor of education (special education) have also been given eligibility.

The government has also extended the validity period of the TET qualifying certificates for life. This provision will have retrospective effect from the date of enforcement of TET guidelines i.e., 11.02.2011.

The last TET was conducted in July 2017 for which a total of 3,29,786 including 98,905 candidates for paper-I and 2,30,881 for paper-II have appeared. As many as 57.37 per cent of candidates qualified in the paper-I and 19.51 per cent have cleared the paper-II. The TET is one of the essential qualifications for a candidate to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in the schools.
