Hyderabad: For the benefit of the pilgrims, Chairman of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation, Baji Reddy Govardhan, inaugurated a bus stand at Medaram. The base camp, which is spread over 50 acres of land, has several facilities for the passengers including waiting areas, 24×7 medical center with ICU and drinking water.
The Chairman was accompanied by Satyavathi Rathode, Minister for Tribal Welfare, Women and Child Welfare, and Erraballi Dayakar Rao, Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Water Supply.
Speaking on the occasion, Govardhan appealed to pilgrims to opt for TSRTC over private vehicles. The pilgrims will be able to use Medaram with the TSRTC app to find all the information regarding bus timings and reservation. He also pointed out that for the first time TSRTC has taken the initiative to deliver prasadam to the devotees who cannot go to Medaram. He also requested all the employees, supervisors and officers to give the best service to the pilgrims and make this year’s jathra a great success.
All arrangements in place for Medaram jatara
All arrangements have been made for hassle-free darshan of Sammakka Saralamma at Medaram in the district, said Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Sunday. He along with Minister Satyvathi Rathod and others has inspected the arrangements at the Medaram.
“Following the directions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, we have ensured all arrangements for the devotees,” he said and added that the Chief Minister was ready to allot more funds in addition to Rs 75 crore allotted to the jatara this year. Referring to the precautions being taken to prevent the Covid-19, he appealed to the people with flue and cough to consult the hospital immediately and added that they also made quarantine facilities for suspected patients.
Satyavathi Rathod said that water had been released into the Jampanna vagu (rivulet) from the Laknavaram to facilitate holy dip for the devotees. “We have also taken steps to prevent the drowning incidents,” she added. Meanwhile, Ministers Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Satyavathi Rathod and TSRTC chairman Bajireddy Goverdhan inaugurated a makeshift RTC bus station in 50 acres of land here. “A total of 12,000 RTC staff will discharge duties. We are going to run 3,800 special buses for the Medaram jatara this year,” said Bajireddy Goverdhan.
