Hyderabad: The Telangana United Christians and Pastors Association (TUCPA) has urged Director General of Police B Shivadhar Reddy to take action against online platforms spreading religious discord and to ensure the protection of Christian minorities and places of worship across the State.
In a memorandum submitted to the DGP on Monday, the association highlighted concerns over ‘provocative debates’ on YouTube channels, incidents of vandalism at churches, and parking challans issued near worship places under Hyderabad, Rachakonda, and Cyberabad limits.
The TUCPA, representing over 570 mandals and several church bodies, also sought police permission and protection for house-visiting carols, Christmas carnivals, and festive programs during the upcoming season.
The association requested stringent action against fundamental groups found guilty of disturbing peace and targeting minorities.
