Kothagudem: The Telangana Vibhinna Pratibhavantula Sangham (TVPS) demanded that the District Bar Association remove L Sivaram Prasad, a lawyer, for allegedly causing injustice to his client.
It was said that a lorry cleaner, G Sudhakar of Sangam village of Paloncha mandal met with an accident in 2012 in which he lost the toes of both legs and suffered damage in waist which rendered him disabled.
The victim said he approached the lawyer to take up his case and do justice and the lawyer reportedly promised him that he would ensure proper compensation to be paid to him for the loss he suffered but there was no progress in the case for the past nine years.
Sudhakar, who staged a protest at Ambedkar centre at Paloncha on Thursday seeking justice, told media persons that his attempts to consult the lawyer yielded no result and the latter booked false cases against him and his village elders for questioning the lawyer.
TVPS president and VJAC chairman Sathish Gundapuneni and other office bearers who came to know about the issue extended solidarity to Sudhakar. Speaking to media he said it was sad that a lawyer who was supposed to do justice to his clients neglected the case of Sudhakar, a dalit.
Sathish appealed to the Bar Association leaders to look into the matter and ensure justice to Sudhakar and remove Prasad from the association for his alleged professional misconduct. VJAC district convener Nageswara Rao, Physically Challenged Employees Association leaders Ramanaiah, Abdul Nayeem and others were present.
