Sangareddy: LPG gas cylinders exploded at two different places in the district on Sunday, leading to injuries to at least four persons and gutting two huts. Four persons sustained injuries as a cylinder exploded at Kalvakuntla near Sangareddy town.

The injured were Sangamesh, Mallamma, Bindu and Chinna. They were rushed to the government hospital in Sangareddy and later to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad as they sustained serious burn injuries. Their condition is said to be critical.

The rooftop sheets were blown off due to the intensity of the explosion. Since there were a number of LPG cylinders in this particular house, the police suspect that illegal refilling of gas cylinders may have caused the mishap. However, the probe is still on.

Sangareddy MLA Chintha Prabhakar visited the house and enquired about the status of the injured persons. He also visited the Sangareddy hospital, where he enquired about their condition and suggested that doctors provide the best treatment to the victims.

In another incident, two huts were gutted as an LPG cylinder exploded in Pulkal mandal headquarters. The two families lost all their belongings in the incident. No casualities were reported here since all the residents were outside their houses when the cylinder exploded.
