Hyderabad: A man, who had kidnapped an eight-month-old child, while he was sleeping beside his parents on the pavement, was arrested by the Sanathnagar police on Tuesday. The child was also rescued and handed over to parents.
The parents of the kidnapped infant, Kalivala Geeta and Radhe from Uttar Pradesh had migrated to Hyderabad a few months ago in search of employment. They earned their living by collecting garbage on Fatehnagar Shivalayam Road in Sanathnagar.
On the night of February 22, they slept on the footpath in front of Vipin Industries on Fatehnagar Shivalayam Road with their child, when he was kidnapped by Satyanarayana Ram (43) and Sunny Kumar Pandey (24) from Chapra district, Bihar. Satyanarayana lives in Gautam Nagar, Balanagar and drives a trolley auto.
Revealing the details of the investigation on Tuesday, Balanagar DCP Suresh Kumar said the boy was kidnapped at 2.30 am. The kidnappers fed the infant with a can of milk that they had brought earlier to stop him from crying.
The police who reached the spot checked the CCTV cameras around the scene. In this process, it was confirmed that two people had kidnapped the boy.
Satyanarayana Ram has been married for 20 years but has no children. Despite many attempts, no children were born. Satyanarayana had noticed the boy on his way home and decided to pick him up and raise him as his son.
