Two girls washed away in a stream in Yadadri-Bhongir

Dangu Sravan Kumar (36), who was riding the motorcycle, and pillion riders Godugu Sindhuja(25) and Ponna Bindu (22) were struck in the water stream.

Yadadri-Bhongir: Two girls were washed away in Dosapadu stream at Kurraram village of Rajapet mandal in Yadadri-Bhongir district when they tried to cross the stream on a two-wheeler on Monday.

According to police, the incident took place at 12.45 pm when a person and the two girls were proceeding to Bondugula village from Rajapet on a two-wheeler to attend a function at their relative’s house. Dangu Sravan Kumar (36), who was riding the motorcycle, and pillion riders Godugu Sindhuja(25) and Ponna Bindu (22) were struck in the water stream. Sravan Kumar, who knew swimming, managed to reach the bund, but the two girls were washed away in the stream.


Sindhuja was native of Chinnamadduroor village of Devaruppala mandal in Jangaon district while Bindu was a native of Bondugula of Rajapet mandal.

Police swung into action and took up a search operation to locate the bodies in the stream.
